For the ‘Art Takes 2021’ competition we asked artists to respond to artmaking in 2020 - an unprecedented year in which visual communication and outreach united us across digital divides. The work exhibited here explores the painful and hopeful themes of 2020 and 2021 including culture, justice, equity, and fantasy. 2021 will be the spring to our 2020 winter and Art Takes 2021 represents the motivation and spiritual rebirth a long hibernation can bring.
